What it will refuse to do. It cannot tell you what property sold for, how much of it sells, or how long it takes — none of that is measurable from advertised listings, and it has been instructed to say so rather than produce a plausible number. It will not name an agency or a listing, because it is not given them.

We do not sell property. What we can do is tell you which firms genuinely work in the part of the market you are looking at — because we measure their books every night — and introduce you to one of them. Not a shortlist of everybody. One or two names, and the reason we chose them.
