How this site is paid for

You should know what our interest is before you weigh anything we publish. So here it is, in plain terms.

We are not paid for introductions, because we do not make them

We take no referral fee, no commission and no payment of any kind from any estate agent, developer or seller in this market. We do not introduce readers to firms. If you want an agent, choose one yourself — everything we publish is free to read without giving us your name, and it is published so that you can make that choice on your own.

What pays for it

The measurement behind this site is the same work that sits behind the websites, systems and market data we build for property businesses. They pay for the tooling. That is what funds the publication, and it is why this site can be given away.

What that money can never buy

It cannot buy a place in the figures. No agency is named anywhere in the Price Index, in the price movement record, or in any number on this site — we publish areas, not agents. There is no ranking to climb, no listing to sponsor, and no arrangement under which paying us more would move a figure by a single euro.

We also carry no advertising. We were offered an easier business model than this one and turned it down, because a site with a banner on it is a site you would be right to distrust.

Our own connections

We are connected to businesses that operate in this market. Their listings are excluded from every published figure, as the methodology sets out, so that nothing we are close to can move a number we publish.

What we are not

We are not an estate agency. We do not list property, sell it, hold client money, negotiate, act for either side of a transaction, or put buyers in touch with agents.
